Everyone deserves to feel supported by their providers during pregnancy. But language barriers and cultural differences can sometimes make it difficult for patients to discuss health concerns with their providers.

  • Can a mobile app leverage user-centered design & person-first language to help recently immigrated pregnant people access culturally competent prenatal care?

  • Initial feedback suggested that some of the language within the app came across as overly authoritative or shaming. I was hired to audit and revise in-app content to improve the UX and build consistency across the brand.

  • After my audit revealed some opportunities to create a more patient-centered approach, I collaborated with Naima’s clinical team to revise the educational content within the app. I remodeled the content to reflect the brand’s revised voice, creating a more empathic, streamlined experience for the user.
